5 STEPS TO GET YOUR SUMMER BODY READY

Through the winter you told yourself you'd look your best come summer. If procrastination got the best of you, don't worry, there's still time to take action to help get your body pool ready. We've broken down some of the most effective techniques to help you shred that stubborn body fat by summer.

1) EAT CLEAN, SMALL & OFTEN

Your metabolism can be either your best friend or worst enemy when trying to burn fat. Depriving yourself of food during the day, then eating one or two big meals when you become starving can really set you back. Keep your metabolism in full gear by eating 4-6 smaller portion meals per day.

2) CUT THE CARBS

Excess carbohydrate foods, especially those high in starch, should be cautiously avoided when you're trying to cut fat. Carbohydrates are one of your bodies main sources of energy, however, eating too many carbs will store as fat. Keep the daily carb intake low, and stick with low starch, fiberous carbs such as brown rice, sweet potatoes, otmeal and vegetables.

3) SPRINT YOUR FAT OFF

The thought of spending hours each week on a treadmill or elliptical is trecherous. Not only can you get an excellent workout in half the time with sprints than you can with slower-paced cardio, you limit the risk of burning muscle along with fat. Get outside, enjoy the weather and do some interval sprints to help your summer body cause.

4) SWITCH IT UP

It's easy to get in to a routine every time you go to the gym. Your body is a highly adaptive machine, so doing the same workouts over and over will just be repetition. Make sure you're constantly keeping your muscles guessing by switching up your strength training and cardio.

5) DON'T STOP

Just like anything else worthwile, attaining your goal body requires focus and constistency. Results take time to manifest, but if you stick to your plan and keep ahold of that original burning desire that influenced to start in the first place, the hard work will pay.
